WACF is about the love for and promotion of good art and crafts; the enjoyment of making
and teaching art and crafts and the celebration of a shared creative spirit in companionship
with like-minded people.

Artists from everywhere and anywhere can apply to exhibit and sell their paintings, drawings,
sculptures, photos and pottery in various venues, private studios and galleries. There will
also be stalls and venues for workshops in art and craft activities available.
Foodies can take part with either their own stalls and workshops, or to learn new skills.

With the theme RE-IMAGINE, we want to highlight the world’s most pressing environmental
problem: the inability of humankind to effectively cope with the disposal of the vast amounts
of household and industrial waste and the destruction of the natural world for profit and
pleasure. By working with recycled materials, artists encourage their viewers to question the
sustainability and ecological impact not only of the artistic process, but also for the way we
live today. The concepts that come to mind are re-cycling, re-use and re-purpose.

A Music and Dinner event will be a Retro Dress-up evening with the rock band Spillage.
Saturday evening 23 September.

Take part in the Fashion Show which will challenge two age groups of high school children
from various schools in the area to create outfits using old clothes and recycled materials.
These creations will be modelled during the Fair and there are lovely prizes to be won.

Our Festival Artist for 2023 is Corina Lemmer and the official opening will take place with a
Street Fire and Food Stalls
Opening Function on Friday evening, 22 September 2023.
